View full abstract and other project information on NIH RePORTER Go To NIH RePORTER Excerpt: The goal of this project is to characterize the risk of Parkinson’s disease (PD) conferred by exposure to the solvents trichloroethylene (TCE) and tetrachloroethylene (PERC) in drinking water at Marine Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Occupational exposure to the common industrial solvent trichloroethylene (TCE) was implicated in a cluster of PD in a small manufacturing plant in 2008.
