Nearly 90% of trauma-exposed Veterans report clinically significant insomnia and/or trauma-related nightmares. Added to the impact on posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma-related nightmares have a negative effect on physical health, substance use, and suicidal behaviors.
