Moreover, 40-50% of Veterans suffering PTSD are also diagnosed with substance use disorders (SUDs). Patients with comorbid PTSD and SUDs have greater drug use severity and show poorer treatment outcomes than patients diagnosed with either PTSD or SUDs alone.
